Additional Information The impressive and majestic Arenal Volcano features an almost-perfect cone at a height of 1,633 meters, whose regular eruptions offer one of the most extraordinary and imposing natural occurrences in Costa Rica. Arenal is an active volcano which has been generating constant lava flows for the last 30 years. These lava flows with their incandescent rocks, its ash and rock throwing explosions and the sounds produced by the de-gasification of the volcano constitute part of its normal activity during the active period.
